Well...it happened again...but not quite to the extent of the last one! (The Arnolt MG Coupe).
I got a call from one of the local car dealers on Thursday saying he had received a call about a car that he had no interest in...but thought that I would.
Advised that a local storage facility had contacted him wanting to sell a British car that had been abandoned in one of their lockers....wanted to get rid of it...he wasn't interested, but thought that I would be.
It perked my curiosity.
So I called.
Turned out to be a basically unmolested 1975 TR6...minus keys, carbs, and title. Very minimal rust. Very, very solid, and complete (other than the carbs).....less than 60k on the odometer.
I made an offer, and had come prepared with cash in hand, along with Pete Mantell, a truck and a trailer.
I honestly believe he was ready to sell... be "he had to call his partner, who just happened to have a nephew who *might* be interested in it"......so...I have his number, he has my number....and Pete and I had a GREAT afternoon at the Philo Tavern drinking Bass Ale.
Not a complete loss of an afternoon.....and I could still end up with the TR6!
