"Barn Find" D-Type

A star attraction of Bonhams' Goodwood Revival Auction on 6 September will be a sensational 'barn discovery' - nothing less than a D-Type Jaguar 'Shortnose' which has lain virtually unused in New Zealand for much of the past 40 years.
Angus Hyslop actually used '534' as his tow-car in between racing it occasionally, securing two second places in further events at Ardmore in 1960 and '61. Later passing through the ownerships of Simon Taylor and Gary Bremer, and as-raced at Pukekohe, Levin, Renwick and Maunganui, '534' was bought by Noel Foster of Auckland on May 12, 1964. The car has been in Mr Foster's family ever since.
At the time of its acquisition by Mr Foster '534's recorded mileage was just 21,737, and today - after negligible use over the past 20 years - it is barely over the 40,000 mark… It has been stored - alone and unused - in a small shed not far from Pukekohe, for some 25 years.
The car is literally a time warp, having been preserved in virtually original condition, as campaigned into the 1960s.
