I've always wondered whether there is any truth in advertising rules or pricing laws that, should someone put in one of those $1 ads they could then be made to sell it for that price.

I think you'd have to prove that it was deliberate, rather than a mistake. Typos aren't legally enforceable.

Truth in advertising laws, where in place, also tend to apply to businesses, not individuals.

FWIW, I finally heard back from the seller. The actual asking price is $13,000 and he is "in no hurry to sell". Not unreasonable if the car is what he says it is, an "original" car with the wrong wheels, alternator, those hideous driving lights, etc.
