Bad Tire Issues

Following up on an earlier post here I ordered 4 of the Centred tires from Tire by Web. I just got back from the local tire shop who is installing them and 3 of the 4 are bad with large bulges in the sidewall. This leaves me scrambling for tires in time for the San Diego British Car Day this Sunday. Having to go with 155 R13s which I am sure will be better than the cracked 175 R13s that were on the car.

Tires by web have said they will issue me a full refund when they get the tires back and apologized for the problems. I cannot fault their customer service.

Simon,
Sorry to hear that you had problems with the Centred tires. Do you know what the date code on them is? They may have been sitting for years. I purchased mine from a tire store in Tulsa, OK. The date code was Nov. 2005. My 76 Midget has 5 Centred tires (3 brand new & 2 that are 2 years old) and they have been fine. Those are the only 145R13 tires (original size from the factory) that I have found. I hope you get the tire problem resloved. By the way you can call TBC Corporation in Memphis, TN. and ask them for the nearest dealer to your home. I believe that Tires by Web wanted $59.00 per tire and I purchased them from a tire store for $39.00 per tire.

I paid $44 per tire from Tires by web with free shipping. I couldn't find any replacements for the TBCs, at least not for less than $149 per tire, and went with 155 R13 Wynstars (?) as the local tire place had them and I need the car to be mobil for the show this Sunday.
