Back in the Saddle

After about three years, my 72 TR6 is back on the road!

It's been a long process. One that I started, but then wisely chose to have the "experts" step in... (I'll leave the expert unnamed, unless he wants to step forward... but's he's on this forum sometimes!)

I stripped everything off of the car, and after paint, made it as far as running the wiring harness (not actually hooking it up), cleaning up the wiper motor and re-installing the wipers, etc. I think it was the two weekends spent on the wiper teardown and re-installation that made me bring in the experts...

Great rebuild on engine and tranny, beautiful paint, etc. So far, just a few minor adjustments needed.

Laurel green exterior, with Moss leather/vinyl interior kits.

While the car was being re-built, our three kids were after me to sell the car, and buy something we could all fit in. Now, however, after riding in the car, no one wants me to sell it!

Nice job!!

I've been wondering what a TR6
REALLY looks like.

Your has 4 wheels under it!!
Not 4 cinder blocks.

Congrats and enjoy.

The color is terrific! Beautiful job. The time spent was well worth it, and I'm glad the family has taken a likin' to it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

You better get it over here.

We got some driving to do.

Have you noticed all the Fiats we have in the neighborhood?

And I have seen a 356 Porche turning north on Marks 2 times. He's about the same color as me and he has year of manufacture plates.

TR6Bill:

i've still got a picture of your vehicle with the roll-bar/wind deflector. I was real tempted to add something like that. But, in the end, it was more a matter of wanting to just get it on the road!

Bill Nice job, How did you achieve the lower in front and higher in back look? What kind of springs are you using?
I like it. Oh and don't forget to fold your top the right way or you'll be wondering how that little rip got there!

The car looks great. I hope it runs as well as it looks.
Happy motoring!

I think the "lower in front and higher in back look" is something that has to be addressed yet. Also, the slope of the driveway adds to it, also!

We've installed a set of the British Parts Northwest springs that are 1" lower than stock. However, the resulting negative camber required that an adjustment be made to bring the rear wheels more to upright. Some type of adjustment may need to be done to the front.

But, hey, this is a "work in progress..." Aren't they all?
