Heavy weather for us on the east coast. A 35 mile long traffic tie-up on I-75 in Kentucky, etc. etc.

How's the snow and wind in your neck o' the woods?

18 - 24 inches (maybe more!) expected here in southeastern PA. As I look out the window it's a total whiteout. Started snowing at 6pm Friday night and expect to snow through 10 pm Saturday night.
We are in the "Hot zone" on the map. Help!

REVISED! We are now expecting 24 - 30 inches !

Elliot - forecast revisions seem all too common.

Here on Wednesday, forecast was dusting on Saturday.
Thursday, forecast was 1-2" on Saturday.
Friday, forecast was 2-3" on Saturday.
This morning - 5-8", 40mph gusts, whiteout, power outages, no driving.

Just wait around - it'll change. And usually not for the better!

Tom- After the winter you had last year 5-8 is a pleasant break for all the New Englanders.

No kidding!

I think the mail carrier is buried in there somewhere.

SNOW! What is snow? Hope you guys get through the mess with no damage. Be safe, use a machine to shovel the stuff, not your backs! PJ

20 on the ground here in Maryland, another 10 to 14 to go. Very unhappy weiner dogs right now.

Still looking at grass here in the Fingerlakes. That doesn't bother me too much.

Last measurement at 3:30 PM - 31 inches of snow.

I don't know how they can get readings around here as it is blowing and drifting. One spot is listing 32" near here, and the low readings we are getting is around 21". The Jersey shore is getting some areas of flooding worse than Hurricane Sandy. I am glad we moved to a 55+ place with snow removal included in the HOA fee. My neighbor could not wait for them though and was out a few hours ago with his snow blower.

This is my wife's Corolla. The black line is the rear spoiler at the top of the trunk:

But, don't worry. The Sprite is safe and sound in its garage cocoon, nestled amongst the bicycles and snow removal implements

Snowblower in the front lasted 10 minutes before its motor burned out. It's been in deep snows before. It just wasn't happy for some reason today and went poof! Next time I'll go Briggs and Stratton instead of electric.

STILL.. looking at grass here in the Fingerlakes. That STILL doesn't bother me too much.
