B freaks out in the heat.

I am a bit confused by this one. On hot days (90+) when it warms up, and I get off the choke, the engine tries to sputter and die. I would think this was the idle adjustment, but wouldn't it react the same on cooler days?

I am missing an air filter on the back carb(one's on the way),but could that have anything to do with it?
 
Yes it could. Having no air filter (other than being harmful to the engine) will allow more air in that carb than the other one. This changes the mixture to the lean side. When you lett the choke off, the mixture becomes too lean and the car dies. I would be willing to bet that missing air filter aside, your carbs are out of whack.
 
That is a good possibility. I have been waiting for the new filter, then I was going to clean and tune them.
 
Well Matt, while you are waiting for the new filter to arrive.Remove the remaining one and your problem will just about go away as steve pointed out.---Keoke
 
Too late. It's here, and in celebration we took the longest drive yet, over to the Cracker Barrel on Sunday. It was great going and then puttering around a while, but I picked a little too sunny of a highway to head back on and we fried. But I did find a giant Popeye that I will be venturing back to for some pics.
