B/E Rear Valance/Boot floor

I'm starting to get ready to do the body work on the B/E. The junction of the rear valance and the boot floor has your typical rust through. I have purchased a new boot floor and a rear valance and have looked at Ray's work on his project. Has anyone used a replacement boot as a patch for the back end of the boot floor? Where would you make the cut? Would it be better to replace the entire floor ( understand the replacement boot floors do not have the tire hooks)? Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Paul

I have replaced a couple of boot floors. As for the tire strap hooks, I found small utility door handles were just about the exact same thing, just a touch more rounded. My last Bugeye has a welded nut in place of those hooks, it just works better if originality is not the issue.
