I'm not surprised. He's been lookin' rough the last few years. What a legend of music. I'm thankful he was with us so long, and still had the ability to tour and share his music. I never got to see him in concert either.
 
I got to enjoy his music at a small venue in Urbana, IL about 10 years ago. Front row center. Awesome performance.

I think he once said he started out doing gospel and blues. He got smiles and prayers when he played gospel, but tips when he played blues.

Great man, great musician.
 
Never had a chance to hear him live, but have seen/heard many recordings over the years. There are times when I'll be on stage taking a solo and getting a bit too busy with my playing -- and I'll think "now, slow down and play it like BB." He could get more soul in a few notes then many players can get in a whole stream of licks.
 
B.B. King had a sound that took an electric instrument and made it sound human. He'll be missed.
 
Luckily, I was able to go see him in Ft. Worth a few years ago. RIP B.B.

:iagree: Yep you could hear more music at Sunday school than on the radio.
