avon cr6zz tires

has anyone run avon cr6zz tires? sasco sports sells them. dot race tire. i understand they are a road rally type tire.

I have seen some of the fellows run other Avon race tires (not this model) and they seem fine, but are real expensive.

The tires that you are looking at are old-school, skinny, high-profile (70 series) vintage-style race tires.
They are well over $150 USD each which seems pretty steep to me.
If you *need* them for a particular wheel-to-wheel vintage race class, that's one thing.
If you are just looking for decent performance, you can buy lots of 185/60-15 street tires that probably perform better and are much less than half of this price (such as Bridgestone Potenza).
The Avons are molded in race-compound rubber, but the 70 profile makes them taller and more flexible....a lower profile is an advantage even when molded with street-compound rubber.
