Check out the May 21 issue of AutoWeek...all about old cars and restoration...includes a brutally frank piece titled "Four reasons NOT to restore a vintage car". Don't read it if you are easily depressed.

that's why I no longer read any car magazines, (with 1 exception); All those magazines are depressing! 10 Best This, 10 Best That, la di da, (I wonder whose definition of Best?), see, the magazines are out to convince readers to buy NEW cars, so they put down car restoration as a matter of editorial policy, but you and I know better and we go on restoring, and car magazines keep going out of business!

There is only one good reason to restore a vintage car.

It's not to make money.

It's not to save money.

It's not even because you love the car.

It's because you love learning, and doing and the car. If that's the case all those problems are just challenges...and stories.
