If you could do anything with any vehicle, what would it be?

For me, as silly and practicle as it sounds, I think maybe restore the Midget and tour the colors w/ Kelly. I'd settle for just putting the top on it and taking a drive.

And maybe, just maybe; beat my old boss in a race with something I built.

Too many fantasies, too little time, too little money.

But lately I've had two that are particularly disturbing.

The first is to take find a trashed Maserati Khamsin, strip it down and completely re-engineer it from the ground up without the crazy Citroen hydraulics and with modern engine management.

The second, and more inexplicable, is to take an AMC Pacer, exchange the drivetrain with something fast and re-engineer the suspension, brakes and steering to make it fun to drive.

Then I'd paint them both the same shade of metallic emerald green with matching tan leather interiors and park them next to each other.

That has me laughin', PC!! I ~like~ it!

me... Im thinkin something off the wall. Like a Citroen 2CV with a Steam engine, and lots of brass and copper. or some big ol' American car from the 30s, chopped hot-rodded, the same as the Citroen. something that would look like the offspring of a steam locomotive, a steam launch, and a rat-rod
Yes, I know, I ain't normal.

I'm with PC. That said a couple spring to mind.

Two types. The first is to drive - the East Coast/ Prince Edward Island - The British Isles - Blue Ridge Pkwy in Ms Triss.

The second is construction.

One persistent is to get two more Midgets - one becomes a stripped down racer - new power, perhaps even four wheel drive. The second would get the back of a VW Fox making it (or perhaps an MGB) into a cool two door wagon.

Similarly, to take a Morris Minor and graft a Volvo 544 hump back on to make late 40's Pontiac type look.

Of course there is always the Firetruck into camper/ hauler...

Just to name a few

Mine is to take a tour around the US/Canada in an old
car - preferably British ('60 Anglia?).Take about two months.

My current fantasy is a simple one.

Have all the cars running at the same time.

My other fantasy is to have all the cars running well enough to do a huge family road trip along the west coast from Phoenix to Seattle.

Yes, forgot to mention getting the Vauxhall roadworthy! Was also remembering a Bentley (late 50's early 60's) for sale about 2 years ago out of a field. Past economical restoration but Oh my a Bentley (or Jag) rat rod - chopped etc. etc. Part of me wants to do it just to show up at British Car shows with something completely different.

I'd just like to get at least one running. :wall:

A little different here...

Drive across Canada for several months, driving a 4x4 truck/camper of some sort, with no intention of trying to follow the Trans-Canada highway, I actually want to drive as far north as possible in each province (ie. rather rough roads) and avoid large cities...

When will it happen? Probably never, but then you never know... :hammer:

I'm with bayless.
The rest of you guys are just

still do and still have work to do on it lol wiring harness dizzy etc

I too harbor fantasies of Steam powered autos. Plus I'd like to build a steam turbine/electric.

The way gas prices are going you might not be too far away.

Might be a bit off topic but the steam powered cars got me thinking... In Scranton, PA at the Steamtown historical site there is a beautiful Nickle Plate Road "big berk" #759... That, my friends, is my dream right there. In reality though I'll settle for chasing the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society's NKP "big berk" #765 in western PA this weekend.
