Hi Brad, welcome to the forum, and I hope you find what you're looking for.

The group here is pretty helpful, so if someone has one, they'll likely help you out.

I always enjoy your displays at Meadowbrook, and usually talk to someone from Healey Werks each year while at the show.

I purchased an unmolested totaled out 1967 BJ8 back in the '70's and the only thing holding the jack in place was a strap with no bag.

I have a nondescript white cloth bag with a drawstring that allegedly came out of a 3000. I picked it up at a swapmeet years ago and it did contain a proper 300 jack, tommybar, and a bentwire screwdriver. Could this be what you are looking for?

I did have and probably still have, the black bag that contained the hexagon knock off wrench and hammer, tommybar for jack, sparkplug socket with leverage bar. It was and still is "black".

Ahem. Check the Concours Originality Guidelines - a copy of which should be in every Healey owner's reference set, whether the owner of a "concours car" or not - and you'll find that the Guidelines state, "The tool bag was a simple envelope made of black plastic, with seams heat-pressed together and with two straps heat-riveted to the bag."

Roger Moment rmoment@comcast.net may be able to advise where to buy correct ones. If I still needed one, that's where I begin to source one.

I thought they were readily available through the usual sources. I have an original that I cleaned up. It has a few small tears in it, but I beleive serviceable original > aftermarket reproduction.

Thank you all for your responses and the kind words from the people who said them.

I do know that there are reproductions out there and i am not interested in those. The tool bag should have been a the welded plastic as stated. It is the jack bag that we are looking for an original to make a copy of. I can not trust anything repro as the quality is diminising across the board with these parts as some of you may well know by now.

If you say you have an original and are willing to help us out, please email a picture of it to me so we can see it and maybe we can work something out as far as borrowing it for a week or 2 to brad@healeywerks.com

again i do not need the tool bag as stated above it is the jack bag i am looking for.

Thanks again for everybody's time and responses.

Brad

I recall the jack "strapped" to the left rear (inside trunk) bumper bracket area. I used to have the strap.

Brad,

I have an original tool bag and it was my understanding that all the tools were stored inside the single bag, including the jack. I look forward to learning if there was some other arrangement

There is no jack bag for the later 3000's after C.10160(BN7) and C.10564(BT7)when they went to the short orange jack. From then on, a web strap was used to wrap around the jack body and loop it around the left rear bumper iron in the bottom left corner of the boot.
This is not to be confued with the very flimsy, cheap fragile black vinyl tool bag with the welded tie straps that was used to store the jack's tommy bar, spark plug socket and it's small tommy bar, and the knockoff hammer(or wheel brace on a disc wheel car).

reid, 12 of the 15 healeys ive owned had a "jack bag", ive skimmed throught the publication mentioned and though it a very valuable tool for healey owners, however imho not all the information contained within is correct, for anyone interested check out "atlanta imported auto parts". go to "tools" scan down.

Link? Because I'm not finding it.

Just checked the parts book. Plate MR 1 shows a strap to hold the jack. No jack bag shown. I wonder if a local dealer added a bag or sold them aftermarket?
