I don't know if you know but English registration numbers are issued to the car and cannot be changed but can be transferred to newer cars. My car has a strict non transferrable plate which means if the car dies this number can never be re-used so it is amazing that the Artist made up my number for his picture. I'm glad it is on a red Austin in both cases!I had thought it might be the attached which shows an Austin sedan similar to yours in a picture by the same artist with--perhaps--a castle in the background.
I realize that a Devon is an A40 while your car is an A35 but in any case it was close enough for me to wonder if that might be the connection.
I viewed the pic of the Healey but never thought to compare the license plates--"Hidden in plain sight".
