Hi Randy,
I was referring to Austin Motor Co. numbering system. MGs were made by Nuffield. Just because they merged into BMC didn't mean they had to adopt a single model numbering system!
Good point though, did the MG models have a model identifcation system apart from the name (MGA, MGB etc)?
