Hi Powell,
Welcome to a great forum.

Push a light wire down through the tube until it exits the bottom of the steering gear box. Use a short foldback on the wire end so that it doesn't snag so easily. Attach the ends of the wires to this pull wire & pull them back down through the tube. You might have to remove the wire end connectors to get the wire bundle back down through the tube. Folks usually attach the pull wire before they pull the wire bundle up out of the tube.

I've used a stiffer plastic coated wire (standard household electric wire to hook up 120V circuits) with success. Start at the front of the car, put the wire through the grille near the steering box and push until the wire comes out the the steering wheel end. Use duct or electric tape to attach the wire harness ends to the electric wire, staggering the ends as much as possible to reduce the overall diameter. Then slowly pull the harness through. Helps to have another set of hands to feed the harness through at the steering wheel end. If it won't go through you can unsolder the bullets to reduce the dia (as Dave pointed out too!)

Cheers,
John

Hi Powell, for both of the cylinders, break the line fittings before any thing else is loosened. Then remove the clevis pins and unfasten the units from the bulk head. Now finish removing the line fittings from the cylinders and remove them from the car. When replacing them ,set them in place then fit the line connectors making sure they start and thread in using only your fingers ,add the shims and then tighten the bolts down. The bottom bolts will probably require installation from the botton of the car.Now finish tightening the lines up in the clynders with wrenches and hook the clevis fitting back up.Then bleeeed and bleeed again. Good hiqh quality stubby wrenches are an asset here.---Fwiw---Keoke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif
