A ironc being British and asking American what this British car is; especially as I live possibly 1miles from where it was possibly made.

It's definately an Austin, the badge on the hood looks Healeyesque but it's like no Healy i've seen or can find.

Anyway a beutiful old car but does anyone know what it is??
(I photographed it where i work this afternoon.)

Yes, I think Stuart has made a good guess.

There are literally tons of old (pre-war style) Austin "specials" out there and this is probably one.
There has been all sorts of little "cottage industries" based on building Austin-based sporting cars.
Most of these specials are based on the original Austin Seven, but the front wings on this one remind me more of an Eight.

Many of these special were built to mimic the orignal Austin Ulster works racers or the sporting Austin Nippy.

The fact that it appears to be glassfiber makes me think a more recently built retro-special rather than a special that was really pre-war built.

Looks like a neat little car.....I'd love to have one.
