Audi A8's are Sweet!

So I’m walking out’a the store after picking out a gift for my mom for her birthday when I walk up to my car there’s this brand spankin’ new black Audi A8 and the owner loading it up with his acquisitions from his shopping trip.

The guy looks over and tells me “Man! I’ve always loved those 928s” and we start talking about our cars. Man I have to admit the guy really seemed to like my car and while he knew it was an early model he was totally shocked that it was 30 years old.

As for that A8 I must admit it was the first time I’d actually taken the time to look at one up close. And although it looked a bit heavy & had an automatic (6-speed tiptronic w/sport mode) let me tell ya for a sedan I was pretty impressed.

I’ve driven all sorts of BMWs (love the last generation 740i) and Mercedes Benz’s but think if I ever consider getting another sedan in the future – this one would have to be on my list.

But alas at $70k plus it’d probably have to be a used one.

Also did I mention that it was in my favorite color?

One of the nice things about the A8 is that although they look heavy, they are Aluminum. Much lighter than they appear. If you want to see an early S8 in action, watch the movie "Ronin" I love my Audi!!!

The new A8 weighs in at about 4321lbs empty according to the Audi website. Not exactly lightweight. But still with a 0-60 time of 5.9s that is more than likely the result of the 4.2L engine pumping out 350 hp.

Go to Spain.
Drive through the mountains (MAD-BIO for example).
You get passed by an A8 every 5 minutes, all doing about 150.
I think they get a bulk discount or something...
