We went to a showing of Auberns, Cords and Duesenburgs yesterday in Tulsa. This is the shop that does my media blasting, which is located in the building behind the cars. A museum inside has old race cars, cars under restoration, and a lot of antiques of the period, including motor cycles. Beautiful day, had a great time. And, a guy even came in his MGA and another in his Maserati! Lots of $$ setting here fellas and they are all originals, no kits!! One lady and her husband drove both their Cords from Maryland, the red and blue ones side by side. Here's some pics. PJ

Wow!

That's a Birdcage Maserati. Worth more than some small countries.

And an MGA Deluxe I'm pretty sure.

Plus some real Duesies!

I've heard that the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg museum in Auburn, Indiana is one of the best car museums in the world.

Nial, the guy drives the Maserati all the time in nice weather. His theory, why own a car if you can't drive it! If it were mine, joke, joke, I think I'd be a little more concerned about driving it in Tulsa, the nut house of drivers. Must be nice to have near unlimited funds. I can only imagine.
There's quite a story about this building here in Tulsa/Broken Arrow. An old pickle factory, it was bought by the grandfather of the present owner, who bought the rights to Auburn/Cord and Duesenburg after they all went belly up. $$. He started producing Auburns in this building, the old pickle factory until his death. I don't know when that was, but the family still owns the rights to the patents! Actually had an assembly line going. Only remnants of the the old line is marks in the wooded floors.

Amen to that!

I'm always impressed by the technology of the new cars ... but I'd still prefer to drive the "older" cars. We've got a 1938 Cord on display at the air museum. Now that's quite a piece of advanced technology itself, especially the "pre-selector" transmission.

That's some nice stuff right there!!!! What a show!

I've visited the ACD Museum in Auburn several times. Never tire of it. Aubrun, IN is full of museums....all very interesting.

Wow! What a show, wish I could have been there.

It's a great museum, well worth a visit. The fact that such beautiful cars are displayed in the original Art deco showrooms really makes it special.

Yup....it's a truly awesome experience!
