Well it's been 18 months of cutting, welding, working and frustration, but the body work & paint are complete. The color is Lexus Spectra blue and the stripe is silver. Cut the "eyebrow" off the grille and will fit it flush in the smile with a British flag painted on the grille. Added a front tilt bonnet. Now all I need to do is reassemble. Yikes, hope my notes, pics and memory are good. I'm counting on the BCF as backup.
I can't tell you how excited I am......

I'm normally not big on stripes but I really like what you've done. Love the color combination.

I've never reassembled from scratch and the disassembly was the easy part. Any suggestions on putting it back together. I was planning to start with the wiring harness and then make it a rolling chassis.
 
I would do
suspension, hydraulic lines and fuel line, drivetrain, lights, dash and wiring harness, interior and trim.

Sounds like a good plan. I actually stripped the car down, rebuilt all the suspension, upgraded to disc brakes, refit the new hydraulic lines from classic tube and re-made a rolling chassis. Then stripped it down again. So hopefully everything will refit....

... whatever order you follow, make to to tape around door jambs and such when hanging doors, windscreen, etc. to protect the paint edges.

Dark Blue is my favorite color and I like the way you striped it too... looks fantastic! Be sure to post updates.

A job like you are doing deserves all the combined experience here so it comes out just right.

Beautiful paint job. Love that color blue. I'm guessing debate was between that shade of Gray or White for the stripe.
 
Initially I wanted a white stripe, but was talked out of that as it would be too much contrast. We then matched the silver stripe to the same shade as the minilite wheels. Should be well color coordinated.....I'm still deciding on the interior, but am leaning toward a light gray to accent the blue.
Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.
 
That blue is FANTASTIC :bow: and the silver looks just right with it. Nice choice! I hear you on re-assembly. I just got mine out of paint, with the same thought. "I know where it all goes....right?" :eeek:

We'll compare notes on "what the heck is that part" and "hummm, don't remember taking THAT off the car......should be fun.
 
I'm not sure about the interior. I think maybe grey might be too blah for such a striking exterior. Maybe a saddle tan leather? Or black, I guess. Jim
 
Interior:

Medium blue w/piping to match the stripe.
 
Hummmm...that's the second suggestion I've had for saddle tan interior. Good suggestions, fortunately I have some time to think about it!!!
