Astronomy picture of the day

Well I wonder who took the picture? I think it was taken on a soundstage, It's a hoax I tell ya! - Oh and an amazing picture.

The article explains how the image was done with multiple exposure. Speaking of which, I probably posted this before a long time ago, but back in 2017 Sybil (not her real name) and I went to the ranch of a family friend up near Casper Wyoming to photograph the total eclipse. I binge-watched every YouTube video I could find on the subject of photographing and processing an eclipse beforehand. We spent the night in a tent on the ranch to ensure a front-row seat the next morning. This image (last in this set) was the result of stacking / blending about 10 different images at different exposures so as to get "proper" exposure of the corona from the sun's surface outward.

Thanks guys. It was likely a once-in-a-lifetime experience so I tried to learn as much as I could ahead of time and I also practiced my technique for taking multiple shots and quickly changing shutter speed between shots. The totality was over in two and a half minutes.

Well before it burns out it will expand to engulf Earth. Crispy!

Well heck, I thought it said Anatomy picture of the day. I read all this for no reason.
