Aston filler cap

I'm looking into an Aston filler cap, and was wondering what works well on the bugeyes. I don't really want one that is just a cover for a locking cap, one that is actually a flip top functional design.

I have one on my bugeye and it works great. No caps left on top of the pump at the gas station! They mount with a brass collar that fits over the fuel filler pipe and the aluminum cap screws on to the brass collar. When buying, measure the O.D. of the fuel filler pipe and purchase one with a collar to match. It will be one of the smaller sizes. I had to immerse the collar in boiling water to expand it enough to slip over the filler pipe and once cooled stayed on nicely. Before mounting the collar, make sure that it 's oriented in a position that will allow the aluminum cap to be where you want it when fully threaded on. I mounted it so the cap opens to the bottom and will stay open on its own when a pump nozzle is inserted:

Where doth one purchase an Aston filler cap? For less than the price of a small car? Thanks, DOug

ebay all day long - that's where I got mine - Aston Gas Cap - Monza Gas Cap

Rick, do you have a part number of the one you used? Take the guesswork out of finding the right one.

Do they work on the Square Sprites, too?

I bought it 30 years ago and burned all the receipts so my wife wouldn't find them. The cap is marked "Enots" but has no p/n. Take a look at this site, which has a pdf catalog of the caps along with measuring info. This should help you out: https://www.batinc.net/aston.htm

I bought one off ebay - a cheap one about 8 years ago - fits fine but I did have to grind off the flange that the existing cap screws on to

I used one from a Triumph, Off Ebay.
Slid the rubber over the filler neck, some have set screws to attach to the filler neck.
