Planning on fitting TR 6 cyl into my next project TR4A, and require some measurements to modify the right inner wing/fender shelf/indentation to TR6 dimensions.
Is the bottom of the indent of TR6 at the same level of the 4A shelf ?
Distance from outside to the top of the shelf ?

Malbaby,
I think this is the measurement that you are looking for.... if it's not just let me know and I'll be happy to get you what you want.
Based on your first pic here is the dimension from the Right inner wing to the start of the shelf.
The measurement is 7" (178mm)
See my pics below. Hope this helps.

Thanks "Gliderman"...can you also do a measurement for the bottom of the shelf please...perhaps by placing a straight edge across the engine bay, centering on one pair of particular fender bolts and then measure down from there....probably easier than measuring up from the tower.

Going out to get some pics now.... stand by.

OK, I hope these measurements are OK for you....
I placed a board across the top of both outer wings (see pic). Board thickness is 5/8 inch (15.9 mm).
Height from TOP of board to bottom of shelf is 10.0625 inches (255.59 mm)
Height from TOP of cross brace to bottom lip of shelf is 3 inches (76.2 mm)

You have been amazingly helpful.
One last question in relation to the position of the front edge of the board....was it on one of the fender bolts, or possibly the centre of the main cross member.

I placed the board right across the front fenders (wings) approximately 19 inches from the front of the front of the fender (directly above the headlight).
If you need any other measurements I would be happy to assist... no problem.
Where are you located in AU?

Thanks again....We live in Kyabram, a small country town in Northern Victoria, not far from the historic [for Australia anyway] Murray River town of Echuca, which was a river port for paddle steamers in the 1850's.
Did you see the Aussie film "All the Rivers Run".

You are welcome. If you need additional information just ask.
I have not seen the movie but will look for it.
I have been to OZ twice and enjoyed each visit. My favorite (so far) has been TAS.
