Article: Welcome to the New and Improved British Car Forum

I just want to say what a fine job you have done with this Forum.
It works well, handles photos quickly. and is generally good to use.

Well moderated too it seems or just friendly guys.

Been posting on the UK Register forum but you have to be v.careful or you get flamed on there.

Basil, I'm having a lot of trouble with the new format. It's probably my computer but it's very slow. I am able to view the opening page very readily, after that it's almost impossible to navigate. Just scrolling down the pages takes over 5 seconds per click. Even typing this comment requires a pause after 3 or 4 letters. When finally reaching a forum it takes over a minute to download from " http.www.Superfish.com". My computer is an older model but I've never had a problem before. I'll try another website to check whether it's my computer or??

Maybe it is too early in the day. Maybe I am a moron. But I can't find out how to display or read the threads in the AH forum.

Anyone want to take the time to hold me by the hand and lead me through this newness?

Jack

Trying to find the wiki/twiki that some have linked too. Where did it get moved to? Looking for TR6 water pump rebuild article

I really like this forum but I would like to make some suggestions.

First, like Jack, the stuff displayed on the main page is not what I am looking for and I suspect I am not alone. The articles are useful and I suspect that you feature them to encourage folks to write them. However, I generally visit the forum relevant to my specific car. In order to feature the articles, perhaps a small section for "Newest Articles".

To find a particular forum I must go to "forum" on the top horizontal menu and then scroll down past classifieds to find my specific forum. It would be nice if there was a little picture of each of the cars in a grid at the top and you could click on the Sprite, the TR3, or the XKE. A little number indicating the number of posts since I last visited would be fantastic.

When I visit a forum, the registries and classifieds are at the top. While I understand no one would find them if they were at the bottom, skipping a use-it-once item like the registry every time to get to the changing information (forum topics) is inefficient. Perhaps just a single Registries and Classifieds link?

Once I get to the forum, I would like to see a summary of each of the topics sorted by most recent posting and an indication of the new posts since I last visited.

Hopefully constructive feedback.
Thanks!
