Unbelievably, I just deleted all the pictures I had stored on my camera. Included was a series of pictures I took today detailing the steps I went through to paint my wheels. Man I feel like an imbecile! It all comes down to me being too quick on the draw with emptying the "Trash Can".

Sheesh... *sigh*

I suppose the 'up side' is that I still have two more wheels to do, and this time I'll be able to document the polishing of the lip before I start paint prep.

ugh...

Have you tried to recover them? I have a freeware program that works well. PM or email if you want a copy. Just don't touch the card or even power the camera until you try recovery!

Connect your camera to your computer and turn the camera on. "Open" the the trash can/recycle bin on your computer desktop.

If your photo files are listed there, tell the computer to "restore" them. They should reappear in your camera.

This trick works even better if you have an adapter to plug your camera's memory card directly into a USB port or similar on the computer.

Good Luck!

eh... I ~moved~ the pictures from the camera to the Hard Drive, then deleted the pictures from the hard drive because I wasn't paying attention and ~thought~ the pictures I saw were still on the camera... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

I've since cycled the power on the camera a couple of times because I thought maybe I had left them there, and wanted to double check to make sure I hadn't ... bleh

I've double checked and triple checked the trash bin with the camera on and off and nothing exists within it.

Steve_S- you've got PM.

A "move" merely copies the files to another location, then marks them as deleted on the card. So long as you don't write to the card again, they are still there, just flagged as available space. A recovery program will be able to search for these flags and remove them, returning the files to normal. Check yer email.

good googley goop! That thar Restoration proggy is purdy nifty!

I was just now messin' around with it on my Office work station and had it search for deleted JPGs and it came back with 448 files.

I do believe this'll let me recover the images I inadvertently deleted last night!

Thanks Steve!

suhweet! recovered ALL the pictures I lost! I tried from my HDD first but that resulted in a mixed bag of good and corrupted images. However, when I 'restored' them from the camera all were good /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Now I'm gonna start working on a new post in the restoration section (I believe this stuff to be useful for everyone) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

err... after I resize the images that I select for use /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

After that I think I might just add to the BCF Wiki /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Steve, may I have a copy of that shareware, please. I also have an itchy trigger finger!

i just realized that pic i posted earlier looks like it's 'dusty'. That seems to be a weird sort of trick that metallic paint plays on my camera. I found another pic that I took much closer to the paint, and it's much easier to see the metallicness (is that a word??) of the paint.
