ARP fastners.

OK, I think I've decided I can and should afford to get some ARP fastners for my rebuild. I'm pretty sure that I have heard people on here say that there is some Chevy or other set of ARP fastners that are the same as the 1275 but at a huge discount because it's for an American car. Am I crazy or is that true and if so, which set is it??? I would love to know before I drop some major dough at one of the British vendors. Thanks everybody!

I bought my studs and bolts from Summit Racing.
Their catalog (printed) does not have all of their offerings.
the on-line catalog is better.
this is what I bought for my 1275:
Rod Bolts ARP-206-6001
Main caps ARP-206-5401
Head studs (9) includes rocker studs ARP-206-4201

I also bought some lube, for the car, ARP-100-9903.
I believe they also have the flywheel bolts, but I just used the existing bolts and the retaining locks. Summit had some stuff on backorder, but shipped within 7-10 days. Good vendor.

Prices were much better (sorry Basil) than the usual vendors.
Good luck.

I found a good deal from an ARP distributor, but they did not have the items in stock and had to order them. Took about 7 days to get them.

Worth every pennny you spend. Theree isa big block chevy rod bolt that will work in a 1275 rod, but the head is wrong, overall, ti saves you a few bucks, but is not worth the trouble, and coulde be a diaster if installed wrong, go with the rod bolt part number quoted above.

Sweet. Thanks you guys. I placed my order as soon as I got the info. The good news is that it was WAAAY cheaper. The only bad news is that the mains and head studs are on backorder. But I'm a patient guy and it was definitely worth the savings!

While I was at it I bought all new fastners and washers for the entire engine. It was only an additional $90 or so but when you figure I spent $360.00 :cryin: yesterday and I all got was nuts and bolts! Ouchy. But hopefully it will make the engine happy and then it will play nice.

Cheers!
