Armstrong dampers - always replace in pairs?

So there was a nice big puddle of shock fluid on the rear drivers side today - excellent!


Before I call Peter at Worldwide, should you replace dampers in pairs? That is to say always replace both sides at the same time?

Seems like a good idea so they are matched, but what do you think?
 
Yeah, I'd do the pair. The chances of a new one having exactly the same damping characteristics as your other old one are slim; and I really hate cars that jump sideways going over a bump (which was always how I knew a rear shock was coming loose).
 
General rule of thumb for any and all suspension or brake parts: Replace everything in sets. It is safer and sooner or later, the other side goes, so you might as well do it once and for all.
