Are water pumps worth rebuilding?

Is is reasonable to have BJ8 water pumps refurbished? The one I have now seems fine, but I'm in the middle of a complete restoration, and don't want to be worring about pump failre. It seals and bushings can be replaced, it seems the right thing to do. Anyone with experience here, or should I just bite the bullet for a new pump?

Bite the bullet Cutlass. Save the one on the car as a spare---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You mean you're not supposed to re-use q-tips? Thanks for the advice. That's pretty much what I thought, but guess I just wanted to hear it from others.

cutlass,at a time when i could buy a used healey for little more then youll be paying for a new pump,i did rebuild two with success, but ill have to agree with keokes strategy on this one, dont want to comlette the build and have to rip it down.good to have a spare. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif
