Are there spacers for the windshield wiper posts?

Today I was installing the windshield wiper mechanism on my BE that had been taken off by a PO. The posts on the wheelbox seem to stick out of the body quite a long way. When I installed the new chrome parts on the wheelbox outside of the car and tightened the nut it would not snug up to the car. There is a big gap. Am I missing a spacer that fits between the wheelbox post and the main part of the wheel box inside the car that takes up the difference? I looked in the Moss catalog and did not see any listed. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Charlie

Yes there is a spacer tube in there that is cut at the angle to match the chrome bezels.

You can make a pair of these spacer tubes easily enough with a piece of pipe, PVC will work, they are about the same length as the chrome bezels and the same angle.
I think it's 45*.

The PVC worked like a charm. Thanks to this forum and it's members for being there with great information.
