I think being an archaeologist must be both exciting and frustrating. Discoveries and trying to see how they fit in must be great but, barring time travel, never really being sure that what you think happened really happened would bother me. It's like dinosaurs, we'll probably never know for sure what they really looked like or what caused their demise (although I think they were smart, developed space travel and left the planet.)
