What is the sequence of intake manifold/ gaskets/ spacer/ heat sheild/ carbureators? I have plain gaskets and gaskets with a metal backing and I am not sure of the position of the parts. Thanks for your help and have a good day!

On page 17 of the Moss catalog you will find the gaskets listed and shown. It appears that the thin gaskets are the same on either side of the heat shield. I would guess from the unclear diagram: manifold, metal gasket, insulating block (spacer), gasket, heat shield, gasket, carb. Metal gaskets would go against a heat source so I'm guessing they would be placed between the manifold and the spacer but I cannot find any varification. I don't remember and I have no better pictures in any of the books I have. I would call Norman Knok at British Car Specialist ((209)948-8767)or Moss has consultants. Norman does this stuff in his sleep and is a nice person always happy to help. My BJ8 is indisposed for the winter but I can go by on Saturday (if I can remove the latest snow).
Anyone want to jump in?
