I have a fairly new 27in iMac with SL. I'm in no big hurry to upgrade. I played with it at the local Apple store and frankly wasn't that impressed. I like the way "Spaces" and Expose works in SL but not so crazy about it in Lion. Also, in Lion Quicken will not work and one of my favorite programs "Front Row" is gone from Lion!

+1. Not upgraded yet.
Upgrade will kill my Sonos controller. Although an update is forthcoming. Also heard that Lion is a memory hog.

Hi Dave - at UConn many folks are moving to Lion. But they're finding:
- some of their current apps (Java Runtime, Flash Player, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop) don't run, or don't run well,
- Adobe Reader and Acrobat don't run with Safari 5.1
- no Rosetta support
- Entourage and MS Outlook problems (email corruption, difficulty in synching with email server)
I'm not using Lion, but I do read the Mac user email list at UConn. Lots of rave reviews for the initial appearance tho'.

Taking the Lion upgrade plunge this weekend. Upgraded the memory in the iMac to 4GB just in case.
I have one app that's still PowerPC/Rosetta based and won't run on Lion, no big deal.

But Macsales (aka OWC) is a good place to start and certain a good place to find out what memory you need. I just upgraded my MacBook Pro to 16GB and only paid $109 from www.Frys.com MacSales is selling 16GB kits for $229.99 ! That's more than double what I paid. But Macsales does stand behind their stuff, or so I've heard. Buying elsewhere for less "could be" a bit of a crap shoot.
