So, your saying that you won two $30 gift certificates for Apple Hydraulics?? Cool... They have an excellent reputation from all that I've heard. They are located here on Long Island, and I've only used them once to get my rear shocks redone. That was about six years ago. All the guys in our TR club use them. Besides shocks, they do brake hydraulics, sleeving etc. I'd recommend them for the hydraulic stuff. I don't know how they do on the carb rebuilding though. Haven't heard anything one way or the other. The guys in the club tend toward Joe Curto in Brooklyn for the carb stuff.
They are lousy - I will help you out of your trouble, and suggest you send me the gift certificates ASAP. My address: 123 Iamacomedian Ave, Joking, NY, 12345.
Ha, ha - reflecting Martx-5, I have have read good things about their services, but have not used them myself. In my restoration I am contemplating whether to use Apple, the outfit in Madison WI (name escapes me) or TRF for my hydraulic components (brakes, shocks). I just bought rebuilt shocks from TRF b/c they were on sale, I was ordering a bunch of other stuff, and my personal bias is to support TRF (I am not saying they are better/best, just that I use them for most of my purchases).
Hey, I want one of those back. I have to resleeve the master cylinder. The one I bought off Ebay does not fit my Morris 8. I have used Apple for rebuilding Armstrong shocks, but have not used their other services.
Had Apple Hydraulics rebuild the TR4A's Zenith carburetors...they came back looking and performing as new...and that was more than a dozen years ago. Also had them do the rebuild of the brake calipers on the GT6 and the 4A. Very pleased.
