I had my MGA shocks rebuilt by apple under 3 years ago and have gone less than 10k miles. I have noticed over the last couple of drives that the fron is very bouncy. Unfortunately there warrantee is good for 1 year(pretty weak imo)Has anyon had a simaliar experience. Any reccomendations on where to go to get my next set?

Many of us here would highly recommend BCF member "PeterC".

His web site is

https://www.nosimport.com/

The rules here at British Car Forum encourage us not to bash vendors on the public part of the forum (not that you were really doing that.....your comment was quite fair).
But sometimes one remark can "build" to stronger statements, so I'll just put in this little reminder to all.

Naturally, if you (or anyone else) wants to privately critique vendors among yourselves using the PM system here, that's fine.

He's local to me and I've not heard good things. When I finally get around to it, they will be shipped to Peter C.

Will be calling World Wide tomorrow. Thanks for the tips. FWIW I too don't believe in bashing anyone on the net, however I just spent an extra 200.00, that I could have spent somewhere else on the car, if this job had been done properly to begin with.

I used Apple on 8 shocks. Within a year 3 were leaking and they reworked them under warrentee. That was a couple of years ago. Currently 2 more have started leaking so I planned on calling them to see if they would rework them, I do know they are the same ones that had been reworked before. If they choose not to stand behind there work I'll try Peter.

I'm not sure what the warranty is from Apple, but Worldwide offers a lifetime warranty. You won't beat that! Peter modifies the shocks to accept a larger pivot shaft and better seals than original.

Not long ago I learned that Worldwide has an ample supply of replacement parts to properly rebuild the shocks. Apple only "makes then work". Not bashing just stating what a little bird told me.

If I remember correctly, aren't the shocks from NOS reworked with different seals and harder bushings to insure that they will not leak?

I remember a thread about this somewhere. I know when it is time for shocks for my B' Peter will be getting the call. I only want to replace them once, since the originals lasted 40 odd years, the next set should last at least that long.

Yes, Peter build his lever shocks to better than new factory conditions.

He puts in bushings where there were none from the factory along with all new seals, etc etc.

Says free replacement for any that leak for his life time. Hay, he's a young guy.

Sure has my vote and I have no idea of his party, oh yea I do. LBC party.
