Hello Everyone!
I would like ask if anyone has installed A flame thrower electronic distribitor in there Healey? If so, What where the advantages as far as its performance over the stock distribitor? Any saving in fuel cost, any noted difference in power? Any problems? Thanks for any input on this subject. Michael, IL.

Any electronic distributor will improve performance over the original if only because it puts more fire in the hole. The faster switching speed of the electronic system even with a standard coil will produce higher output voltage to the plugs--Keoke

Thanks for your reply Keoke, I just wanted some feedback from someone who has bought the flame thrower and used it for awhile so i could decide if it was worth putting out the cash for! Im not to happy about the gas milage i been getting, In perfect tune and carbs setup right im only getting 16 to 18 mpg in my 67 BJ8. I thought the flame thrower would help a bit! Have you converted to electronic? If so, Any real difference in mileage or power to make it worth the money? Thanks Keoke...

I have used an electronic system i made myself until the Pertronics came out and was so happy when they agreed to produce the negative ground issue.Cooler runing, improved gas mileage and easier starting were the benefits, plus no points to go bad and have to change.

I have been using one for a couple of years now. It works great.
The timing mark was wandering around under the timing light at idle speed with my original one. I opted to use the petronix instead of getting my original rebuilt.
My mileage around town is similar to yours. It is a little better on long highway trips.
