Anyone using an adjustable clutch pushrod?

Re: Anyone using an adjustable clutch push rod?

Is your TR8 clutch stiff? Mine is very light in comparison to my TR6

Re: Anyone using an adjustable clutch push rod?

Haven't really driven it enough before the slave crapped out on me.Haven't driven the 6 in 9 years and this is the first I've driven a clutch in about 4 years.

I was just curios for information to store .

Your left leg just needs some exercise then. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Tell me about it. Was so excited to get the wedge and then no clutch. Now it looks like winter has set in skipping fall completely.

This brings up a question a asked earlier and didn't get a response. The TR7/8 clutch master looks identical to the 6's. It has a 5/8 bore and was wondering if I went to a TR6 M/C if it would lighten the pedal some??
Nope. Since your MC is .625 (5/8), switch to either a .70 or .75 from a TR6 would result in a heavier pedal rather than lighter.

Re: Anyone using an adjustable clutch push rod?

piman, mea culpa,

I was thinking of something else. We just got done resizing the master cylinder, converting a roller to GM power brakes. I was thinking the wrong way.

Re: Anyone using an adjustable clutch push rod?

Randall, I thought that is why the later 6's went to the bigger .75 bore to lessen pedal effort?

Re: Anyone using an adjustable clutch push rod?

I'll be darned!

In that case can I put the 7/8's clutch MC on the 6?

Re: Anyone using an adjustable clutch push rod?

Beats me ... I didn't know anything had a 7/8 clutch MC. But if it looks like it will fit, it probably will. Just don't blame me if your left thigh winds up bigger than your right !

The ratio of force (and distance) goes with the square of the piston diameters. So changing from a .70" to a .875 (7/8") will result in a 56% increase in pedal force (and 56% more travel at the slave, which might be a problem in itself).

If you meant 5/8 instead of 7/8; I think that would be a bad idea. The problem is that the slave travel goes down at the same time as the pedal force goes down, and the slave travel on a TR6 is already marginal with the .70" MC (which is why many people switch to the earlier .75" MC).

Ok blows that idea out of the water /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer.gif
