Exhibit in Atlanta right now.
I'll be passing through, and I know I'll kick myself for life if I don't stop and see this once in a lifetime thing.
I'm a History geek....
Anyone else been or going?

Exhibit is here

Re: Anyone seen the King Tut / Terracotta Warriors

I've seen the Tut exhibit several times. I made the DVD that they sell in the gift shop. Well, technically I shot it, I didn't edit it together. Funny thing is, I shot the DVD for the first one several years ago and I still haven't watched it.

We were in Atlanta shooting just before the exhibit opened up a month or two ago. It's worth seeing if you're into this stuff but don't expect to see the mask or coffin. The exhibit itself is very well put together.

Some family members saw the Terracotta exhibit in the LA area and noted that it wasn't as large or complete as they were hoping, but it was neat to see.

Re: Anyone seen the King Tut / Terracotta Warriors

I saw the Tut Exhibit at the Chicago Museum of Art when it came to the States the first time in the late '70s/early '80s.

At that thime, the mask was included in the exihibit.

It was pretty incredible.

I saw it in LA at the same time. I hardly remembered it because it was maybe ten years old, so when I saw it for the first time in the Cairo Museum is was even more magical to me. It's really an amazing piece of work. Sadly, that mask will never leave Egypt again.

Re: Anyone seen the King Tut / Terracotta Warriors

Thanks guys.
The wife talked me into going to Indy to see the King Tut exhibit in May, said she'd sub the Terracotta Warriors for the 500. Game on!
I'll keep an eye out for that DVD Steve.

Re: Anyone seen the King Tut / Terracotta Warriors

You can't do the Indy 500 AND the Terra Cotta warriors?!

Or...you're seeing the Terra Cotta with her and she's seeing the Indy 500 with you?!

And (before I google it)...where are the Terra Cotta's at in Indy?

Re: Anyone seen the King Tut / Terracotta Warriors

We'll see the King Tut AND the Indy 500.
Terracotta Warriors are being replaced by the 500.
Terracottas aren't coming to Indy, but Danika Patrick is.

Re: Anyone seen the King Tut / Terracotta Warriors

Ah...OK...no wonder I couldn't find it on google.

We sit in the Tower Terrace behind the pits for the 500. I'll wave to you.
