Howdy all!
When I was a kid, my family used to spend a lot of time on the Mass. coast. On rainy days, my mom would take us to the local five and dime and get these little wooden kits that made a dock scene. It came with a thick piece of cardboard, perhaps the size of a book of matches, painted to look like boards on a wharf. It also had little wooden dowels for the dock pilings. You'd slide these through on the little cardboard dock on each of the four corners. It also came with a little solid wooden house -- perhaps a bait shop. It also came with a small lobster trap (again, a solid piece of wood), and also came with a red plastic lobster (I always glued that next to the trap), and best of all, a nifty little plastic seagull with a pin sticking out of his bottom, so you could mount him to the little house, or perhaps to one of the wharf posts.
I went to the same location this year after nearly 20 years, and these little kits were nowhere to be found. I've also been unable to find any mention or sign of them on the web. Does anyone recall these little gems, or perhaps know if they're still in existence!?
Thanks!
