This is the Solex Carb. that is on the MG I might have obtained the other day. I have had two inquiries to sell it, but one guy was from the MGEX site, and I can't get the Info. What is the model # and what is it and the manifold worth? I saw somthing that looked similar here:

LANCIA FULVIA HF 1600 SOLEX 42 DDHF CARBURETOR-NOS
Item number: 8016831436 on Ebay.

Any Info. and value would be appreciated.

Paul, contact Joe Curto and ask him. He works on Solex carbs.

www.joecurto.com

I'm sure he can give you some prices.

Mercedes 190 SLs came with solex side draft carbs also. It is like a DCOE weber, only without the charm

must... resist... French... mumnfft....

ARRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There. I bit me tongue.

Edit: I'd bet a Weber'd bolt right up to that set of pipes.

Weber - Solex - Mikuni....all beasts of the same vein

were I to choose one, it would be the Mikuni

I know the Datsun 2000s came with Solex carbs as an option. My friend got one last year. Man does that thing go like stink.
Really, a Solex is just a Japaneese Weber DCOE. I bet Dr.E is right. It's probably a Weber intake.

A Solex is a ~french~ version of a Weber... *PTUI!*

That thing is "hard mounted" to the intake as well... wrong. Mikuni would be the "first chioce" replacement these days.
