Anyone know their steering lock assemblies?

My key got stuck in the ignition a while back. I can start & stop the car, just not get the key out.

In a "throw money at the problem" fit, I ordered a new assembly from Victoria B. (part # 0-317 on https://www.victoriabritish.com/icatalog/sm/full.aspx?Page=2)

Problem is, I didn't look at the picture (didn't have the catalog) and once I got the part, I realized what my car currently has is part 0-319.

Now the quandry is this: My car is a '74. According to their catalog, 0-317 is for 70-74 and 0-319 is for 75-79.

So on to the questions...

Is their catalog wrong with the years, or does my car have the "wrong" steering lock assembly? Mine plugs right into the harness under the dash like the 0-319 does. Which makes me think the catalog is wrong.

Thoughts?

If it works, the catalog is wrong. Seriously most changes on our cars happened in production so when one ended and the next started is often anyone's guess.

I agree with JP!
If the wire colours on the two connectors match then I would have very little problem with trying to start the thing. If THAT works then see if it will physically bolt in!

I've had trouble with VB listings before.

And no, I don't know my lock assembly. At least not in a Biblical sense.
