Anyone Know of a Custom Auto Sound Alternative?

I cant put a 50s head unit in a 60s car!!! Whats wrong with you?!? =)
In that case, what about putting a 60s head unit in a 60s car? There are a number of outfits -- this just being the first one I found in searching -- that convert an original radio to AM/FM stereo and with all the outputs and jacks you're likely to need for your ipods, satellite radios, etc.!

Havent been to a brit only or euro only show yet, at least not with the gt6, so we'll just see.

Be prepared for bagpipes.

Ive only been to one Brit only show and about 1/3 of them had Ford engines... ...even the only triumph there, a stag. I did see a couple of Scottsmen in full clan uniform, but no bag pipes. How many clans use navy and green plaid?!? I don't know if I'm in the same clan or not. I never confront them because I think they're the real deal. Not just some American who's ancestors came over centuries ago and just claim to be one.

This ones hosted by the local British Emporium, a store that specializes in anglophile goods and hosts event. It's designed for uk expats who can't get such things without traveling back. I go because they sell Canadian smarties there which are sooo much better than m&ms because they use nestle chocolate. UK smarties use natural food coloring which means the shells taste like grass, vegatables, and bugs. If theyre not holding an event I'm usually the only American there.

Grr... I was replying to this and when I hit sumit I discover that the ENTIRE forum has been shut down for an hour in rememberance. Naturally I forgot to copy before submitting and when I hit the back button I lost everything to the same notification message

that's really cool. But if you factor in the cost of a nice triumph stamped radio plus modication... ..."Most manual or pushbutton radios:  $369" That more than my double din navigational system. Probably the best option though for those with money and patience

Anybody else want to have a suggestion shot down ?
Next..

Listen, I asked for alternatives and/or suggestions. This does not mean that I am REQUIRED to pick one. Like I said, I already HAVE a custom auto sound stereo. I mostly wanted to know if something else would fit without modification... ...that answer is no.

This thread is useful not just to me but to anyone else that may be in the market or for future searches. If you do not have anything to contribute, then that's fine, but don't act like everyone elses was meaningless because it's not.

...which is why I chose to necropost rather than start a new thread.

Here we are. The head unit is finally installed. Because it was of the standard DIN size, the parcel shelf brackets had to be modified. In order to get the knobs to fit the existing hole, the unit itself also had to be modified. And since this was a universal kit, I found a white on black label maker and printed off a triumph logo.

It will not play iphones or any newer ipod as for some reason. The audio jack doesnt work with it, even though headphones do. However it does work with my 1st gen ipod mini and 2nd gen ipod nano. I also have purchased this. Hopefully that will allow me to play my iphone, because I love being able to stream my music, as well as this one particular 60s pop station.

Re: Anyone Know of a Custom Auto Sound Alternative

Best sounding engines for me are the TR4A motor, Jag 6, and admittedly an old Ferrari V12.

I know that adds absolutely nothing to the thread

Looking for an MGB radio. I had a bad experience with Retrosound and now am debating between a Custom Autosound and Ken Harrison. Does anyone have an opinion on the difference between the two? Also do you know what size speaker I need in the front. I have a 1968. Thanks in advance.
