Too late fer me. I lived on Buckroe Beach back in th' early '70's. "Beryl's B's" in Newport News was my go-to back then, but he's likely long gone. Wish I could help.
It's about a four hour drive to the D.C. area, but there is a pretty good LBC club in the Frederick, MD area.
Make sure you check out the Military Aviation Museum when you're down there. Great museum and they let you get up close and personal with the aircraft.
