Anyone in SE Michigan have a good SU float I can pick up NOW?

Help. Leaky float. Car show today 4 hours away.

Britlover:

1. Find the source of the leak by draining the gas out of the float, submerging it in water and seeing where the bubbles are coming from.

2. Drain the float again and fill the hole with Quick JB Weld or any other five-minute epoxy.

3. Reinstall and enjoy the show.

Had a great time at the Alden Sports Car show today ! 80 degrees and sunny, the weather was perfect. It was nice to meet Britlover ( Brian) and his awesome BN1 which is even better in person than you can imagine btw. Totally original and couldn't have a more appreciative owner. He had already managed to solder his float and repair his car so wasn't in need of another float. I didn't take a lot of pictures but everything from a Porsche Speedster, an original XK 120 drophead , many other great Healeys, Truimphs , MGs , Morgans and an AC. American cars too from an original 54 Corvette, Crosley Hotshot, all in all about 50 classic sports cars. I proudly represented all the TR owners out there with my 61 TR3A.

It was a great show at Alden. I've never seen so many Healey 100's in one place... 4 100's and 1 100M. I did get the float fixed in the nick of time to get the car on the trailer, and it performed flawlessly once we got there. I managed to pick up 3rd place in the Healey class, and Mr. Brinkerhoff won best in show with his TR3A -- Congrats! and good luck with the sale. It was nice meeting you, and I appreciate the offer to bring a float up there, though I missed the post. I don't have any great pics, but may be able to post a few tonight.

Kevin Brinkerhoff restored my '63 BJ7 and did a masterful job! Actually, he worked for the previous owner but I had the good fortune to buy it from him shortly after Kevin finished the job.

Too bad Michigan is so far from Vermont because we have the 24th annual British Invasion at Stowe, VT every September. Over 600 British cars are shown and it's probably the biggest all-British show anywhere. Even if you don't want to bring your car, it's worth the trip. I'll be showing my car there and hope to see some of you folks there, too.
