Anyone have whitewalls? Pictures?

I am thinking about putting some wide whitewalls on my Bugeye wire wheels. They're expensive, so I can't make up my mind. Does anyone have a picture of them on their Bugeye, preferably with wire wheels? Thanks, Jim

This is a friends car in SoCal. I can probably get a better profile shot from him if this doesn't do it for you.

Thanks, Gerard. Still can't decide. A regular blackwall is maybe $50, and whitewalls are almost $150. I think the whitewalls add a bit to the Bugeye's overall funkiness, but blackwalls are cheaper and certainly look good too.

I've also thought about whitewalls, but can't justify the price differential. There's so many other 'necessities' that I want to buy for the car.

Yep, no question they're spendy. I've wanted to put some wide whitewalls on my Austin 10, but it would be near $1000 once it was all said and done for a car that's pretty much garage furniture.

What color will your Bugeye be?

It's white with red interior and with the stock wire wheels. I think the whitewalls would look nice. But I could do without spending that much.
Hey, I plan on putting some aside for your tranny kit, Gerard.

Good thinkin'... a much better plan... :iagree:

Here is something the VW crowd apparently uses. Also Vespa and other scooters. I am going to try some on my boat trailer wheels (1957 vintage boat).

From what feedback I've seen, it seems the extra wide (3") size does not work as well as the smaller sizes.

They seem to run around $45 - $50 for a set of 4.

Those are interesting. I also found out that Kumho makes a 155/13 in a thinner whitewall that is only $50 or so.
