Trying to figure out the HS4 swap on my 1500 and a pic of the throttle and choke linkage would really help out.

thanks,

Re: anyone have a pick of a single HS4 linkage?

I dont know how to post a pix but I did the same thing. I used the rear carb.Use your old and new link combos to get what you want.

Re: anyone have a pick of a single HS4 linkage?

I guess the one I have would be the front carb, that may be why I'm having issues. Check out this pic:

The choke is easy enough but the throttle is getting the best of me. I can't see any way to adapt the ZS linkage and in the workshop manual it looks like the throttle linkage was attached to the intake on the UK models.

Anyone? About the only thing that comes to mind is to fab a bracket that attaches to the dashpot cover bolts so that I can have have the upper linkage mounting point like on the ZS...

Any insight on this would be appreciated....

Re: anyone have a pick of a single HS4 linkage?

update:

- I'm starting to question wheter this carb is actually an HS4. I'm thinking it's an HIF4 since it won't bolt up to the intake manifold....back to searching for a used carb /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

- I reinstalled the ZS and retuned it. The damper had NO oil, which would explain why it was running so poorly. It appears to be slowly leaking down the sides of the piston...It's running well now but I won't be able to try her out until a replacement rear shackle arrives from Moss tomorrow (the nuts were siezed snapped off during removal)

Re: anyone have a pick of a single HS4 linkage?

Thats a HS4 not HIF, been awhile since I did mine but I am sure I had to drill and tap the manifold and use a spacer block.

Rob;

Go to this web site to see pictures of the HS4 swap. There are some good pictures of what the linkage should look like. Also check Rimmer Bros web site for more diagrams of the setup. If you have any further questions, or need other pictures email me; I did the conversion on my Spitfire a couple years ago.
