Also looking for a decent rib cage tranny for an power train upgrade. Could work with a 1275 that's running from another swap - whatever.

In North Carolina, but travel a lot.

Check Mikey Pleasant in Carlsbad California. Go to Bugeye Parts and scroll down under used parts for sale and you will see that Mikey has 1275s already rebuilt.

I have a 1974 1275cc engine and ribcase transmission that is likely surplus to my needs. Engine last ran about three months ago. In East Tennessee about 2 hours from Asheville.

Well, I have what I have and have decided to just keep the 948 and rebuild my smooth case tranny. Thanks very much for the input! Edit: Now, I have a 948 in a bag in the corner of the garage, probably for the next owner. Plus, a good smooth case tranny.

Even so, Whitephrog, your situation makes me wonder how much you would want for that engine, tranny and if you would sell separately. I'll be off to Rally Barbados for 2 weeks if I don't answer, that's why......... cheers
