Anyone had this problem?

My partner is a leggy blonde who likes short skirts but won't be seen getting in and out of my midget. Plus she hates driving in cars with the top down. It's a hair thing.
What can I do? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Trade her in for another model? It's that or get a hardtop. I shudder at the thought of never again having the top down!

Seriously, what about a scarf? My wife rode in the B, top down, from our wedding. Didn't mess her hair at all! And it will give her an excuse to go shopping.

As for the skirt thing, just have her use the old "two legs touching / butt twist" manuever to exit the car. Knees up, legs twist flat, spin in the seat towards the door, feet on the ground and there you are to take her hand and stand her up, blocking any remaining possibility of showing what lies beneath. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

LOL! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Funny you say that.
My ex girlfriend had a real problem with my car.
She goes... " Bloddy heck Jarrod, your car doesnt even have a roof!"

It is a hair thing, chicks hate it.

I love it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Keep those roofs down fellas! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Wonder if she would have this problem in and XKE or Ferrari, you might just need to change one or the other. Wayne

Maybe it would help if we had a picture of her getting out of the car. You know, for research. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ditch her! She will just be touble in the future if you don't. Find one that likes MGs and woul will be set for life

You either love LBC or not...........

However, that said, I have been trying to get the guy who makes the double bump roll bars (cosmetic only) for Miata's to make them for "B's". He is in Wisconsin and I tried to hook him up with the local MGB club since he says he'd like to do it but doesn't know how to fit the thing. IF, he made that, he also makes the plexi that fits between the bumps. I love my B but my Boxster gets around the problem with the roll bars and plexi wind break. The ones on ebay look silly. By the way, in my hippie days (1969-1972) the wind thing drove me nuts too. Now, with less hair, I can sympathize with your girlfriend.........maybe you want to give me her number so I can be sympathic? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif

I only knew that manuever because I dated a blond with a short skirt once. She did like the MG, however I decided to keep the car and not her. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Tom Rynne's Windblocker keeps Miss Jerri's hair just like she wants it - even after a top down interstate run

...but, I agree: dump her! She doesn't like LBC's! So, how can she really like you?

Guys you have all made my day. But I do like the idea of a photo for research. Regards John. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

I bought my wife an MG hat to wear...she still has to tie her hair back, which she doesn't like, but I'm worth it I guess. Years ago, when I had a ragtop Jeep, she even changed her hairstyle...but those short curley perms we cool then LOL

As Tony said, get a windblocker and pick an especially scenic route to a romantic dinner or something she'd enjoy...then if she doesn't have a good time...find a new girl!

I guess I'm a lucky guy.
Other half as well as two year old daughter absolutely love the Midget. Daughter is securely strapped in her own child seat mounted on the 'shelf' behind the seats.
Waves to everybody on the road, including the police... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Wind Blocker! I have plenty in stock for immediate delivery with no shipping charge and much less than the Moss catalog. I make the ones Moss sells.
https://www.morspeedperformance.com
click on Wind Blocker to see the various models for MGB, MGA, TR6, Spridgets and email me if you want more pics.
The ones on ebay are junk.

Had one that was happy to ride in the Delorean but not the "gecko car". It was hard, but I did the responcible thing. Laura absolutly loves the Elva and likes to "Go French". This however presents a ingress/egress problem which she has resourcefully solved by pulling herself up and steping over the door.
My problem is that I haven't been able to properly educate her on British car recognition. She waves to everyone. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

to be fair guys my partner does have a love of motors. She has restored an MGB and built her own Landrover from the ground up.
She just hates Midgets because she can't get in and out of them with any modesty.
