I'm looking for an AM/FM radio - anyone want rid of theirs?
 
You mean a factory radio specific to your year or just a universal replacement?
 
I just bought an older Honda AM-FM from Goodwill. I used black model paint to cover the "Honda" and it looks pretty close to "factory".

You all know there is not really a specific one. It was a dealer option.

I was pretty sure of that Jack - which is why I'm not at all fussy. would like FM though as I think I should be able to use my Ipod with and FM transmitter and I do listen to the radio but not AM.

I actually have a radio just no knobs, no faceplate and oddly enough no place to put the antenna - which is to say that the actual plug is mssing.

I actually have an AM/FM CB on watch on ebay - after all that is a period accessory!
 
Related to all this...

I've been really tempted to buy ~THIS~ and just use the USB port to play my iPod (plus, use the CD player).

$80 USD.

It has AM-FM too, but I probably would not even bother to fit an antenna.
 
A radio +++ can be mounted in the footwell passanger side against the top of the footwell. Can not be seen from outside and you can have all the bells and such of a modern unit. Use the bolts holding the blanking plate. Just replace a couple with longer ones from the Hardware.
 
I've got the cheapest Sony ($80) with MP3 input jack. 6 1/2" woofers, crossovers and tweeters. Sounds pretty good (some speakers up front would really help though). Currently I have it duct taped on the hump in front of the shifter, not sure where I'll mount it. Bought the cheapest antenna at Autozone ($5) antennae cable extension ($4) and ran it under the carpet and just crammed the extended antennae crosswise under the lip across the rear cockpit trim, up under it. FM reception is fine, AM stinks (needs to be a good clear shot for AM I guess). Antennae is invisible of course. Car is still positive ground. Head is wired straight to the battery, unswitched. Stereo has a setting to turn off after so many minutes (or 30 seconds even) so if I leave it on it won't drain the battery. Certainly not the best way to go but I hate cutting holes in pretty cars.
 
Just wanted to finish this thread - decided to see if there was used one close - searched on www.kijiji.ca and in Guelph (next town over where my wife works) is an ad for a Sony AM/FM cassette - and FREE! picked it up tonight - looks great - a little new for the car but close - thanks all.
