...weary of threads about gasoline prices, corporate bail-outs, the economy, unions vs management, etc., etc.?

Can we have a "time out" on these threads?

Maybe I've overdosed on turkey! :smirk:

isnt there a rule or something you mods could invoke till after the first of the year or something...

i found it

5. Do not bring up politics, religion or otherwise potentially controversial topics here. Posts that violate this rule may be deleted without discussion. While we respect everyone's right to their opinions, it has been our obsevation that keeping the discussions about our cars, or about "light" non-controversial topics, helps ensure everyone gets along here.

Well, I guess.....

(But, I think you OD-ed, Mick! hehehe)

Gas price threads are pretty silly anyway when you consider there are sites like this and this and this (and countless others) that can tell you what the gas prices and averages are anywhere in the world.

Yep, I'm a crotchety old coot, but I'm ok with that. :wink:

Mickey;

:iagree:

BTW: Have you been watching E-BAY lately? There are a bunch of nice TR8s for sale right now. If only I could sell that silly Miata in my yard, just to make room of course.

Dave :savewave:

Dave,

Please don't post things like that. It's very dangerous to do around the holidays...

Yep - TR8's are still undervalued. Took mine out for a spin today with the top up. Still gets lots of looks, and more fun to drive than I deserve!

I keep think about how much my wife would like another LBC for a present.... :devilgrin:

James - what's the latest on your bio-diesel experiment?

Tom
PS - your HealeyJournal is one of the most interesting and informative restoration logs I've ever read. Well done!

Dave :savewave:

did you get the Miata sorted after the deer incident?

Willie;

I found a recycler (nice word EH!) down at Grimsby with all the parts I needed.
Did the work myself at my friends shop, like welding in the new rebar, and put it together in about two weeks in my backyard (no Garage yet).
She isn't perfect, but it drives very well and only needs paint to be beautiful again.

Total cost in Can. dollars, $650.

"Hurray for my side" (That quote comes from Lady Godiva's ride.)

Dave :thumbsup:

excellent Dave, bye the way did you go to the british car flea market in the fall?

No, I had all the kids (6) home that day, and of course they all wanted money, so I was broke, and just didn't want to feel the frustration of not being able to buy stuff I want but don't need.

Maybe next time.

Dave :savewave:

How horribly I identify.

...but without the children.

Doc;

There are two good reasons to have children;
1/they can mow the grass HA HA!
2/someone to blame all your problems on

I do the second quite often, but then, you may already know that

Dave :thumbsup:

Every time ours boys come home, I end up broke, too....

I ask mine to mow the lawn (on a riding mower) and they laugh and ask what my job would be then, then they say they will buy a goat and who do you think would end up looking after that, :cryin: Exactly
