I am looking at a job opportunity in the Denver Colorado area. Anybody from around there have any feedback on what this area is like and have info on some good websites for infomation on things going on in the area, house info etc.
Thanks,
Allan - York PA

You'll think ya died and went to heaven, Allan.

I left heaven when I came to the states from New Zealand. I wonder how the Midget will be on the mountains. We have only hills around here.

Don't worry about the mountains. In-town you'd already be 5000ft higher than you are now

Shawn???

Don't think he wants to share!

I have some good quality professional contacts involved in the relocation industry in the Denver area, they can send you all the info you need, and then some. No obligation, no hard sell. If you decide to make the move they will be there to help you.

I've helped several members of the BCF to do the same thing in the past. There's no charge for anything, and nothing in it for me, in case you're wondering. I just do it because I can.

Let me know.

By the way I'm a Pom, and having made the move from the UK I knoow what that's like. And you're right, you already left one paradise on earth......

Dang Steve- My wife's a Labor Relations director. What can they find for 150K+ a year .

Steve me too. I was born in Birmingham, and them moved to NZ in the 70's. I still have my Grandfathers watch from his service at BL with the On her Majesty's service box. Nice gold watch and still runs.

Don't think they can find jobs for people, (heck, I need one of those myself) but info on housing, cost-of-living comparisons, and area information and demographics are a breeze. That's what I used to do, but I have kept in touch with all my contacts and can get things organised very easily.

WOW!! Lots of misplaced Brits on here!

..and that's a bad thing HOW?? :smirk:

Allan! Pay attention to Steve. He's a bit of a ummm...

nevermind.

PM th' lad, he's got yer six.

Allan,

Our #2 kid went to school & lived in
the Westminister/Arvada area (North Denver area),
& we were surprised at how much food was for a big
city (about the sane as here).
Also almost every day in the Summer,it would
be sunny & warm in the morning, but right around 2 PM,
it would POUR down rain for a while,& then it'd be
sunny again after that.
Incredible scenery (the Rockies are just West-
of Denver),but East of there is pretty much flat -
where the Plains begin.
I was also surprised at how easy it was to
get around - for a big city. You also have 2 major
stadiums, almost right next to each other.

Th' place is a treat.

GO!!

Amen what Doc said.

I had a photo conference there in November one year. Arrived about 8pm, couldn't see any scenery. Woke up and open my curtains to see I was facing west toward the mountains. I just sat down and stared. Absolutely incredible.

...from two flatlander Floridians.

Who've seen a LOT more than just Florida.

Just DO it!!!

Keep in mind Doc hates the cold, but he's still all for it. That's saying something

Yep, Denver is one great city! You may, however, be one of just a few LBC's on the road! I spent a month there not long ago & never saw one other that current production models.

Do they have a British car club?

Tony,

There's a couple of clubs.
There's the "Rocky Mountain Triumph Club",
plus one,or two other clubs.
While visiting our Son a few years back,
I was able to sit in with the Triumph club,at
on of their monthly meetings. They even bought
me a beer,& gave me a Tshirt!
Just go to one of the club sites,& check
out the links to other clubs.I also remember
seeing an MG club in the area as well.
If you do go,you Have to visit Rocky Mountain-
-National Park,& the Glenwood Canyon (just East of
Glenwood Springs - INCREDIBLE!
